Harper's Market_The Nostalgia Issue!

Welcome to our fourth Harper's Market - the Nostalgia Issue! It's been a labor of love, as well as an emotional process...I suppose that's the root of nostalgia. Remembering far-away places, long-ago times and dear ones lost to us has been wrought with feelings, but through this their lives and works live on in glory. It's also brought many wonderful editors, writers, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists together again and I suppose that's the LEGACY of nostalgia.

I'm so happy to have the opportunity to publish the last two editorial shoots by the great Francesco Scavullo. This caps a wonderful moment in my professional life, having been the editor who was able to work with him on these final acts of genius. Bringing Bebe Buell together with him 25 years after it had been originally scheduled was a thrill for us all that day in 2003 and the results could not have been any better. Note the contentment on the faces of the great master and models AFTER a full day of shooting in this photo I took. BE SURE to read Randi Graves' piece, "Memories of Scavullo" about that final shoot...and MAKE SURE the tissues are close by.

We have wonderful memories of C.B.G.B.'s (which closed after three decades of being a pivotal source of talent in the music industry), visions of Warhol's Factory with Bibbe Hansen, today's fashions inspired by the immortal Sharon Tate, read about the one-and-only Elaine Kaufman in "Women we Love (AND ALWAYS HAVE!) (my note: and always WILL!). There's right-on "how-to" advice about where to get the makeup, hair and clothing that's keeping everyone on the cutting edge but still allows us to honor our rich and rewarding past.

Let us know what you think, always. We're YOUR editors and always here for you.

May this holiday season mark the beginnings of new and glorious things for you and those you love and hold dear and bring us closer to the history, both personal and professional, that is so important for our good character.
Warmly,
Kevin

OvoWorks & Harper's Market: The Blogging Begins!

Another year passes and our stable of image Superstars at OvoWorks, Inc. only grows stronger and more varied. What a great group we have built here...in my more than 2-1/2 decades in the image providing business I've never felt so comfortable and supported by an entire group - and what talent! Great things brewing for the roster in '07, so keep checking this blog and the site @

While 2006 certainly has had it's challenges, can there have been anything more motivating and affirming that the launch of Harper's Market online ?! @

How wonderful it's been that such a talented and diverse group of editors, writers, photographers and stylists have come together to create something with such HUGE potential. We're all so jazzed and ready to roll right ahead in '07. We're just loving our first

and we're putting finishing touches on our January '07 issue which will explore the theme of Nostalgia. It's ready to take you back to the great and good old days and I'm personally so honored and thrilled to have a very special profile of the Pharaoh of Photography, my late friend Francesco Scavullo. I'm writing something dear to my heart...it was my life's FANTASY to work with the Great Master and turned out that the last two days he ever worked were with me. The photos, of which, have never been published....wait until you see his final two days of shooting...he was NEVER BETTER!! Both picture-wise and just great good fun to be around on set....you'll read all about that PLUS lots more good profiling of days of yore with great tips on our usual beauty, hair, body, spa, travel..the works!

Be sure to check the current issue @

with a profile of my great friend and colleague the inimitable Joyce Tenneson...divinity on earth!

I hope this finds you well and looking forward to a year of nothing but Ease & Elegance for you and those you love at this holiday season. I know we all pray for peace together in these troubled times and as long as we do that, it binds us around the globe that much tighter. While we have our challenges, the earth is a magical and beautiful sphere and our two companies endeavour to capture and report that for our clients and readers with sincere hope.

With devotion and affection,

Kevin
